How do I find a good gardener?

Our ethos is about providing a good quality, friendly, reliable service. At The Garden Professional we never leave a job that we’re not 100% happy with ourselves.

Sometime this results in a small waiting list at the most demanding times of the season but many of our customers book work with us in advance, to ensure they get the service plan and the time slot they want.

What is the process of hiring a gardener?

Each gardening company will have a slightly different process when quoting for the work. At The Garden Professional, this is what we do:

Provide a bespoke gardening plan in accordance with how you’d like your garden to look. To allow us to achieve an understanding of what you’re looking for, once we’ve spoken on the phone or email we’ll arrange for Niall, our senior gardener and director of the company with over 21 years experience to visit your garden and talk through your options.

This is provided free of charge to all our clients, whether it be a “one-off tidy up” or year round weekly garden maintenance service.

When you decide to proceed with the work, we simply ask you to complete a booking form and we’ll confirm a start date with you that suits your schedule.

How much does a garden assessment cost?

We offer free garden assessments with no obligation. To book this in, simply get in touch.

How often do I need gardeners?

How often you need a garden maintenance visit depends upon the requirements of your garden, including its size and how you want your garden to look. Each garden is different and we see every customer as an individual, so we like to talk to you and work out a plan that suits your garden’s needs.

At The Garden Professional, we offer a weekly or fortnightly option for our regular maintenance customers.

When we start work on your garden we’ll prioritise what needs to be done first, working effectively to make your garden look at it’s best, as quickly as possible. This allows us to bring your garden up to the high standard that we aim to achieve. The visits going forward from this would be aiming at maintaining quality, to make your garden look fantastic all year round.

Do you do a ‘One-off’ Garden Tidy service?

Yes. We offer a one-off gardening service which is based for a minimum of 7 man hours. We want your garden looking smart and tidy with the job done efficiently.

How far in advance do I need to book?

This would depend on the size and timescale for your project.

Where possible, we aim to have you booked in, to start in your garden within two weeks from confirming your booking.

Do you do just hedge cutting as a service?

Yes, we are happy to help you.

Hedge cutting should be completed on a regular basis. Different hedges will need to be cut at different times of the year and the number of times they need to be cut will depend upon the species and variety, along with how historically they have been maintained.
